Badminton Success

The sport of badminton continues to go from strength to strength at Kingsley, with girls who started playing at school only eight months ago now members of winning club teams and being invited to join county training events this summer.

Year 5 pupil Emily Enoch (pictured far left) recently played for Alveston and with the team won The Coventry Badminton Association 4th Junior Team Challenge. She was thrilled to be presented with her medal by Jill Pittard, last year’s national singles champion.

Also progressing in the sport is fellow Year 5 pupil, Tabatha Sinclair, who entered her first U11 Warwickshire Junior County Championships and performed well against some very tough competition.

According to Kingsley’s badminton coach Mrs Kate Close “She showed great sportsmanship” and, like Emily, has been invited to the U11 county summer club.
