Year 9 student Madhuri Hickling has won Kingsley’s first round heat of the national FutureChef competition.
She was one of seven girls who took up the challenge of cooking a hot main course for two people, costing under £4, in an hour.
Her delicious smoked haddock omelette was judged as the best dish and she now goes through to represent Kingsley in the regional heats in November. For this stage of the competition she will be mentored by Luciano, a professional chef from St John’s Hotel in Solihull.
Congratulations to Madhuri and the other girls who took part in the competition. The standard of food prepared was very high and the judges were most impressed with the tasty dishes they sampled.
