Year 9 student Megan Peters represented Kingsley at the regional final of the national FutureChef competition.
The culinary skills of all the competitors were extremely high and unfortunately the meal she produced was not deemed to be the best. However, Megan got high praise from the Head Chef of Simpson's in Birmingham - who is representing England in the prestigious International cookery competition Bocuse d'or – who said that her lemon mousse was one of the lightest he had ever tasted!
Megan had just 90 minutes to prepare a two course meal costing no more than £8.
Her menu was spicy Indian lamb with pilau rice and fresh tangy lemon mousse with chocolate chips, piped cream and tuile biscuits.
