School children from the Leamington Spa area were invited to attend a series of workshops at The Kingsley School, given by the London recorder quartet, I Flautisti
, otherwise known as “the Girls Aloud of Baroque music”.
Over 90 pupils joined Kingsley students to listen to the ensemble, who are described on their website as: “making a name for themselves by challenging preconceptions of recorder playing and delivering inspirational repertoire with imagination and creativity”.
spoke to the youngsters about playing techniques and performed wide selection of music on a range of different sized recorders.
“It was a memorable and motivating experience for all the youngsters who attended and great PR for an instrument that is often derided!” said Kingsley’s Head of Performing Arts Mrs Judi Walton.
