In September, Kingsley once again hosted a netball playday for girls in years 5 and 6 from local Warwickshire schools. Approximately eighty girls took part; we were delighted to welcome Bishop’s Tachbrook, Moreton Morrell, St Peter’s, St John’s, Abbotsford and Thomas Jolyffe, who joined Kingsley Juniors at our playing fields in Sandy Lane.
In the morning girls took part in a series of netball skills and drills led by coaches from Leamington ladies netball. After a picnic lunch, they were divided into mixed teams and the matches began. The winning team received a prize, and everyone who attended the playday received a certificate and a commemorative netball medal.
We were lucky with the weather and everyone had a good time, learning more about the skills and the game of netball and making new friends. Year 10 Kingsley pupils who are studying GCSE PE helped to run the tournament, dispensing refreshments and first aid when required: we all appreciated their efforts. SM Bates
