The Kingsley School prides itself on the quality and excellent qualifications of its teaching staff, which is reflected in the progress and success of our Prep School pupils and senior students.
As part of the teachers’ continuous professional development programme, international educational consultant Caroline Bentley-Davies, author of the recently published book How to be an Amazing Teacher, visited Kingsley to give a master class on ASSESSMENT FOR LEARNING.
The tables were turned for Kingsley teachers while Ms Bentley-Davies spoke in an engaging and lively manner about international research and outstanding practice.
Everyone agreed it was an inspirational way to spend an INSET training day. The comments from Kingsley staff afterwards included:
- very relevant ideas for us to build on whilst affirming current best practice here
- it reminded us that learning is at the heart of all our teaching and why we are doing the job we are doing
- dynamic
- stimulating
- inspiring
Head teacher Ms Heather Owens said afterwards: “As a fee paying school I need to ensure that the staff are trained to provide the best possible teaching and learning and the most up to date. Such excellent professional development has a positive impact on what happens in the classroom and on standards and achievement.’
