Prep pupil Emily Mortimer (Y3) has won a prestigious rhythmic gymnastics prize in a competition entered by children from all over the country.
Aged eight, she was the youngest competitor in the Under 10s category at the Nene Valley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club open competition in Northamptonshire.
Her top class performance was marked the highest, winning her the Rose Cup for 2012.
Emily has been a member of the City of Coventry Rhythmic Gymnastics Club for two years and in that time has already won a bronze and another gold medal. She is devoted to the sport and spends up to three hours five days a week training.
“She enters competitions all over the country with her club and balances training and school work cheerfully and without a fuss,” says her class teacher Mrs Rebecca Harrold.
