Kingsley’s Young Enterprise group was presented with the prize for Best Presentation at the Young Enterprise Central Warwickshire Area Finals 2012 hosted by IBM in Warwick.
Titled “Let’s Talk Food”, the presentation by group members Jasmine Tooke, Sophie Hirons, Zara Heathcote and Victoria Inchley was about the cookery book they have compiled and had published as part of their Young Enterprise initiative.
The girls were competing against other Young Enterprise companies from Aylesford School, Kenilworth School, King’s High School, Warwick School and Myton School.
The students at the IBM event have all been taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme which enables students aged 15 to 19 to set up and run a small business for the course of an academic year with help from a volunteer mentor from the local business community. Let’s Talk Food were mentored by Harriet Lister who works for IBM.
Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise education charity. Every year it helps 250,000 young people learn about business and the world of work in the classroom under the guidance of 5,000 volunteers from 3,500 companies.
