Audiences of parents, grandparents and friends of Kingsley Junior School were wowed by this year’s school production of The King and I. All children from Year 3 to Year 5 took part as members of the chorus, with Year 6 girls taking on the leading cast roles. With beautiful singing, elegant dancing and amazing individual performances, the entertaining evening was well attended and enjoyed by all.
Year 6 pupil Rebekah Ramsay writes: I truly enjoyed being in this amazing production this year. Ever since I joined Kingsley it has been my aim to be a part of this brilliant performance. This year, I finally completed my ambition. Year 6 practised for weeks, preparing the production and trying to live up to the high standard of the last Year 6 shows. Girls even willingly came to school on a glorious Sunday afternoon to practise. The show wouldn’t have been as much of a success if Year 3, 4 and 5 girls hadn’t enthusiastically supported Year 6 by singing their hearts out in all the rehearsals. Everyone has shown complete dedication to the show and now there is no excuse if they say they can’t do something because we now know they can if they put their mind to it! I am certain that all of the Junior School will agree when I say it was an outstanding performance.
