A tour of Parliament is the highlight of the annual trip to our capital city.
All Upper Sixth A level students and the Lower Sixth Politics group visited Parliament. We were given guided tours of the whole of the Palace of Westminster: the opulent House of Lords, the Commons and Westminster Hall, - the most ancient part. We were able to see at first-hand what most people only view on television news reports.
Our guides were very informative, telling us about the history of Parliament and current parliamentary procedures.
In the afternoon we all spent some time in one of the Kensington museums and then walked to Harrods. London looked particularly festive and attractive in the bright winter sunshine.
This has been a popular annual visit for a number of years and is an important part of Kingsley’s Sixth Form’s extra-curricular programme.
The photo shows some of the Sixth Form in front of the carousel and outdoor skating rink by the Natural History Museum.
