New Arrivals

Kingsley welcomes three new arrivals in the Junior School this term – Head teacher Miss Anne Hornsby, Year 5 class teacher Mrs Suzanne Holmes and Year 3 pupil Sophie Stewart.

Miss Hornsby is delighted to take over as Head teacher. She says: “The Junior School has strong traditions with an upbeat modern outlook.  I believe its unique smallness of scale is an extremely powerful feature in early learning.  Personal attention within the small classes in the Junior School leads to a sense of identity and belief that effort is worthwhile.  Our Kingsley pupils feel secure, work hard and co-operate effectively in a caring family environment.”

“I am eager to cultivate new and innovative ideas within the Junior School Library as a resource to enhance teaching and learning throughout the key stages.  Reading underpins all areas of the curriculum and our aim is to foster a reading and information ethos that promotes motivated readers and learners for life.  Our Kingsley parent volunteers are superb advocates for the Junior School library and I shall be working alongside them as they continue with the library ‘makeover’.  Suggestions and ideas from our Kingsley pupils in carrying out our re-vamp are vital; therefore I shall be welcoming their recommendations in the coming months.”

“As I start my new appointment as Head of the Junior School, it is wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and energy from our pupils, parents, staff and governors.   I have rarely come across a school where the children are so happy and well looked after, which is frequently remarked upon by parents and visitors alike.  I look forward to working with Ms Owens, Head of The Kingsley School and to many busy and productive years ahead.”
