Washday at St John's Museum
The current topic for Year 1 is "homes", which includes learning about life in rich and poor houses in Victorian times. A recent visit to St John's Museum in Warwick gave children a chance to experience the tasks carried out by a laundry maid in a large house. They discovered that doing the laundry was a much more labour intensive operation than it is nowadays!
