Princethorpe-Kingsley riding event

Harriet

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April 2007, we held our seventh joint riding event with Princethorpe College.  Thirty schools from all over the Midlands came together for a most enjoyable weekend.  Kingsley competitors rode well in the individual dressage and show-jumping classes on Saturday, where Zoë Williams won one class and was placed in another. Zara Heathcote, Lucy Green and Sophie Tombs were all also placed.

In the team show-jumping competition on Sunday we did even better: in their respective classes, our junior team came second, our senior intermediate teams came second and fourth, an open team made up of two Kingsley girls, Emma Hughes and Anna Green and two Princethorpe riders came third and our open team of Anna Green, Harriet Kipping (riding despite a painful fall the previous day), Jessica White and Victoria Winter came first!

We were pleased to welcome Isobel Lane, Jessica Beards and Victoria Inchley, who were all riding for us for the first - but not the last - time! We are very proud of our girls’ talent and commitment and should like to thank them and their parents for all their support of riding at Kingsley.  In addition, thanks are due to Pippa Williams, our squad trainer and to everyone at Princethorpe, particularly Alex Darkes, without whose organisational flair and wonderful good humour, none of this would happen!

Editor’s note

Mrs Jessett gives up an enormous amount of time to organise riding events for our girls. She does a wonderful job and everyone at Kingsley is most grateful to her.
