In the autumn term, girls from Abbotsford, All Saints, Crackley Hall, Crescent, Kingsley, St. Peter’s and Telford Junior Schools met at the games field for a Year 5/6 netball playday.

The afternoon began with the girls being divided up into various “chocolate bar” teams, (eg Mars, Twix, Galaxy, KitKat, Milky Way, Buttons and Bounty) so that each team comprised girls from all the different junior schools – a real mix!

Each team was allocated a member of staff and Kingsley Sixth Form helpers were available if required. Netballs and cones were distributed and the teams carried out a warm up and worked on various netball skills and tactics for about half an hour.  Then the games began, allowing the “chocolate bar” teams to play one another and to show what they had learned during the skills and tactics session.

The enjoyable afternoon ended with refreshments in the Kingsley pavilion and certificates were awarded to all girls who had taken part in the event.
