Visit to Ashby St Ledgers

The history and RS departments organised a joint trip for Year 7 girls on 7 November, when they visited the beautiful village and church of Ashby St Ledgers. The girls took part in a variety of activities such as brass rubbing and learned about the significance of the wall paintings and other objects in the church, which has rare wall paintings and medieval pews. The visit ended with a lively and interesting talk about the notorious Gunpowder Plot, which was planned in 1605 by Robert Catesby, the Lord of the Manor.
