Many congratulations to 14 year old Hannah Williams, who has been offered the part of First Boy in Armonico Consort's forthcoming production of The Magic Flute, and will have the exciting opportunity of singing in the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on 7 March and then in Dublin on 5 and 6 April. 

Music is an important part of Hannah's life and she fully intends to become a professional singer one day. She has had singing lessons with Kingsley's vocal coach Miss Morley for the last three years, plays the violin and has just started piano lessons. Hannah auditioned at the end of last term for a part in Mozart's Magic Flute and was delighted to hear that she has been successful. "It will be the biggest thing I've ever been in" she says, " I'm very excited but a bit nervous, too!"  Her family will be accompanying her and they are all looking forward to celebrating her younger sister's birthday in Dublin.

In addition to rehearsing for The Magic Flute,  Hannah will be preparing Grieg's Solveig's Song from Peer Gynt Suite No.2 and Purcell's duet Sound the Trumpet for the finals of the Banbury Young Musician of the Year on 1 March. Singers and instrumentalists from many schools entered last month's heats and competition was intense, as two performers only from each competition class could go forward to the finals. Hannah will be singing in two finals, both individually and in a duet, which is a fantastic achievement. The finals will be held in the main hall at Sibford School, Sibford Ferris on 1 March - you are warmly invited to attend and cheer Hannah on!
