Charity Cake Sale
Following the loss of their friend Melissa, Year 7 girls Lydia Kelly and Charlotte MacNamara decided to raise money for leukaemia research. Both girls enjoy making cakes and thought it would be a relatively easy and popular way to raise funds, particularly since Kingsley's healthy eating drive has seen cakes disappear from the canteen menu!

The girls were delighted when the final sum far exceeded their expectations: they have raised nearly £136. A fantastic effort - well done!

At least thirty Year 7 girls contributed cakes and there was an excellent selection of very well-priced goodies. For two successive lunchtimes, queues stretched all down the corridor, and Lydia and Charlotte, helped by Amy, Laura and other friends, sometimes struggled to keep up with their eager customers.

Charlotte and Lydia really enjoyed the experience, however, and are very pleased to be able to donate so much to Leukaemia Research. They would like to thank everyone who donated or bought cakes.
