On Saturday 8 March Anna Green and Zoë Williams travelled to Uttoxeter in Staffordshire for the 2nd round Area 7 Pony Club Dengie Championships. There were approximately ninety competitors and we are delighted to report that Anna was placed 8th on K B Playboy while Zoë was placed 9th on Mickey Sports Star. This was a huge achievement for both girls, who were awarded Dengie medals and rosettes and who have qualified in this class for the Dengie Championships Final at Moreton Morrell on Saturday 29 March.

On Sunday 9 March Kingsley pupils rode at the Bloxham Inter-School Showjumping Competition at Moreton Morrell.  The first competitor of the day was Lucy Green (Junior School) with a brilliant double clear, which set the fastest time. Our novice team in the 2'6/2'9 class also included Fabia Hobday, Isabel Pickard and Victoria Inchley, who also had a double clear. Harriet Jones, who was riding for the first time for the school, competed as an individual.

In the intermediate 3'3/3'6 class our B team consisted of Zara Heathcote, Isabel Pickard, Emma Hughes and Victoria Winter.  Jess Beards rode as an individual, her first time at this height as a Kingsley competitor.

Our A team intermediates were Zoë Williams, Anna Green, Lucy Hiorns and Laura Morisot (pictured above).  They rode brilliantly; all four had double clears and their team was placed 1st out of the twenty teams competing.  Zoë Williams had the fastest double clear and gained 1st place Individual.  All the girls received winning sashes and silver plates. This winning team also rode in the 3'6/3'9 Open Class: both Zoë and Anna had double clears and as Laura and Lucy had only 4 faults each, the team was placed 2nd overall. Zoë was again the fastest double clear of the day and won 1st place Individual.

This was a brilliant day's performance for Kingsley riders, if rather tiring: there were hundreds of competitors, which meant that for some the day lasted from 8am to 8pm!  Many congratulations to all the girls.
