Textiles students currently taking GCSE and A Level have completed an exciting and creative collection of garments and accessories as part of their coursework.
2008 GCSE work includes corset style silk dresses, dancing dresses, an ethnic style bag, an Irish dancing cape and an eco-dress which uses Capri-sun packets as decoration. Year 12 students have been working on tops influenced by 20th century fashions. Our final year A level students have produced ‘Winter Wonderland Lingerie’ and ‘Eco-fashion Club-wear’.

As well as their practical work, all students have produced a portfolio of design work which tells the story of how their designs were developed from design brief to final evaluation. Mrs Dempsey comments that the many hours spent slaving over the sewing machines really have been worth it!
All of this year’s work can be seen at the Kingsley Art & Design Exhibition held on Thursday 3 July from 6.30pm.
