Roman Times

In April Year 7 pupils enjoyed a Classics trip, which Georgina Sheard describes:

We left school at 9am and went by coach to Cirencester Roman Museum, about an hour’s journey. I found the museum very interesting and really enjoyed looking at all the mosaics. It was fascinating how many of the little terracotta pieces are used to make a full picture.

We then travelled to Chedworth Roman villa, where first of all we had our lunch. After that we had a tour of the villa, including the pond and the baths. Our guide explained to us that having a bath today was not the same as in Roman times. Bathing would take at least 3 hours as there were many processes.

I really enjoyed the trip and learned a lot.
