In our most recent school inspection, Kingsley’s arrangements for pastoral care were described as excellent – the top rating given by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The inspectors said that: “the size of the school encourages positive relationships…and a clear sense of community encompasses pupils, teachers and support staff, as well as parents.”
Our pastoral system is led by Deputy Head Mrs Jo Bailey with a dedicated Head of Year for each year group. All members of the teaching staff are involved in pastoral care.
You will have the opportunity to see your child's form teacher on a daily basis and there are termly parent consultations.
Our pastoral care aims to:
- promote our friendly, caring ethos
- support girls in achieving high standards in all areas of school life
- create a mutually respectful and hard-working environment.
Our programme of personal, social, health and citizenship education (PSHCE) is a lively and highly relevant course taught by form teachers and during form periods. The main themes are personal relationships, social awareness and citizenship, health and safety and personal management. Topics are covered in increasing complexity according to age, and the way in which they are delivered is adapted to meet the needs of each group.
