Pastoral Care

 pastoral care

In our most recent school inspection, Kingsley’s arrangements for pastoral care were described as excellent – the top rating given by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The inspectors said that: “the size of the school encourages positive relationships…and a clear sense of community encompasses pupils, teachers and support staff, as well as parents.”

Our pastoral system is led by Deputy Head Mrs Jo Bailey with a dedicated Head of Year for each year group.  All members of the teaching staff are involved in pastoral care.

Our pastoral care aims to:

  • make sure all girls feel known and valued
  •  promote our friendly, caring ethos
  •  support girls in achieving high standards in all areas of school life
  •  create a mutually respectful and hard-working environment.

Everyone who visits, studies or works at Kingsley describes it as a happy school and this has been highlighted by a succession of inspection reports.

PSHCE

Our programme of personal, social, health and citizenship education (PSHCE) is a lively and highly relevant course taught by form tutors and Heads of Year. Key themes are personal relationships, social awareness and citizenship, health and safety and personal management, including study skills. Topics are covered in increasing complexity according to age, and the way in which they are delivered is adapted to meet the needs of each group. Outside speakers and agencies are involved at various points throughout the course.
