| Sports & Results On Wednesday 7 May 2008, five schools met at Kingsley's playing fields in Sandy Lane to take part in a special event for Year 5 girls: a fun afternoon of rounders and athletics events! The schools taking part were Crescent, Kingsley, Milverton, St. Peter's (Leamington) and Warwick Prep. In the rounders event, all schools played one innings against each other during which several girls showed some excellent batting and fielding skills. The final result was a win for Warwick Prep. with Crescent school from Rugby and Kingsley in joint second place.
In the athletics event, two girls from each school took part in a 60 metre sprint, a rounders ball throw and a long jump. Points were awarded to each girl according to her finishing position in each discipline and the combined total from all events decided the overall winning team.
Individual winners were as follows: 60m sprint: A. Marcus (W. Prep.) and C. Knights (St. Peter’s) Rounders ball throw: K. Stanislas (W. Prep.) Long jump: C. Knights (St. Peter’s) Team winners: Warwick Prep.
At the end of the afternoon, we all met outside the pavilion for refreshments, after which winners’ certificates were awarded to the winning rounders and athletics team and to the winning athlete in each of the three events. Certificates were also given to all those who took part in the afternoon's activities.
Thankfully the weather this year was wonderful and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves!
